01. Project Introduction

AURA BOTANICA is a concept case study illustrating the LUNEXIS approach to modern digital commerce. Instead of a standard catalog template, we designed a sensory storefront that blends clinical ingredient transparency with effortless purchasing.

02. Client & Business Context

Premium skincare brands often lose conversions when their online store feels generic or when customers feel overwhelmed choosing the right formulation for their skin type.

03. The Original Challenge

How can rich formulation data, clinical notes, and usage rituals be presented within a calm, uncluttered layout where adding to cart remains effortless on both desktop and mobile?

STRATEGIC PROBLEM DEFINITION

04. Project Objectives

  • 01Design a Product Detail Page (PDP) that answers customer objections through progressive disclosure.
  • 02Introduce a 3-step regimen builder to guide first-time buyers toward the right product pairing.
  • 03Create a responsive slide-over cart drawer with transparent shipping thresholds.
  • 04Optimize every commerce control for one-handed mobile browsing.

05. Research, Assumptions & Strategy

We applied progressive disclosure across the product experience: key benefits, volume options, and pricing are immediately visible above the fold, while full INCI lists and application rituals expand cleanly via accessible drawers.

Deliverables:
  • E-commerce UX architecture & Product Detail Page (PDP) design
  • Visual design system & modular commerce components
  • Interactive ingredient explorer & slide-over cart motion
  • Headless commerce front-end architecture
  • Mobile-first checkout usability optimization

06. Visual Direction & Moodboard

A fusion of apothecary precision (monospace batch labels and concentration metrics) with deep botanical tones, warm parchment surfaces, and crisp lime highlights.

07. Information Architecture

  1. 01Storefront hero featuring flagship formulation and routine finder entry
  2. 02Collection catalog with instant filtering by skin concern
  3. 03Editorial Product Detail Page (PDP) with ingredient synergy breakdown
  4. 04Interactive botanical ingredient glossary
  5. 05Slide-over cart drawer and streamlined checkout flow

08. UX Structure & User Journey

Shoppers can either browse collections directly or answer three concise questions about their skin goals to receive a tailored 3-step routine with one-click bundle carting.

09. User Interface (UI) Design

Product cards draw inspiration from apothecary labels, displaying formula numbers, key actives, texture notes, and an inline volume selector (30 ml / 50 ml) with instant price updates.

10. Motion Design & Interactions

Micro-interactions focus on commercial clarity: smooth progress bar animation for free shipping thresholds, fluid layout transitions when filtering collections, and tactile button feedback.

11. Responsive Design (Mobile / Tablet / Desktop)

On smartphones, a compact sticky Add-to-Cart bar docks cleanly at the bottom of the viewport once the main buy box scrolls out of view.

12. Development & Technical Implementation

Architected as a decoupled storefront ready to connect with Shopify Storefront API or similar headless commerce backends, supporting multi-locale and multi-currency formatting.

13. Final Website Presentation

The final presentation showcases the collection grid, the apothecary-inspired PDP buy box, the active ingredient breakdown, and the interactive cart drawer.

14. Architectural Takeaways & Concept Value

  • Illustrates how intentional typography and structured product storytelling elevate perceived brand value.
  • Proves that detailed ingredient education can coexist with a clean, high-converting purchase flow.
  • Modular component architecture scales effortlessly from a 5-SKU boutique launch to a full catalog.
